Maria was born and raised in California where she lived her whole life until moving to Hawaii in 2020. She has always been captivated by art and  exploring different mediums and styles. She started out loving pencil renderings but soon discovered how much she loves vibrant color!

Maria infuses realistic details with abstract mixed media elements. Her focus is to create joyful, colorful, meaningful and expressive art. She also likes to make her art inspiring, so she includes uplifting words. Hawaii is not only breathtaking but also deeply inspiring, influencing her life and art profoundly.

She attended Otis Art Institute in California in the 80s and continues to take art workshops to constantly improve her art skills. When she is not painting, she is at the beach or having a great time with her loved ones, or her Siamese cat Devi who is the perfect art studio assistant!
